My Christmas Manicure

Since I didn't post over the holidays,  you missed seeing my Christmas manicure...drum roll please :)

I have been dieing to wear my bottle of OPI "Smitten with Mittens" for almost a year now, and Christmas was the perfect day to sport it's sparkle fabulousness :)

OPI "Smitten With Mittens"
2 coats

Like my festive "accent finger"?  I used OPI "Alpine Snow" and dotted some festive colors in the shape of a Christmas Tree :)  I used most of the colors from the China Glaze "Let It Snow" Holiday Collection.

Smitten With Mittens is a deep red creme with golden glitter. The glitter does not translate gold on the nail, but the golden sparkle adds an extra brilliance to the shimmer. Very pretty!

I was inspired to do my tree, by this lovely nail post by Kitschy Suburbia, she did a fabulous tree on her nail!

Her tree is awesome, thanks for the inspiration chica! ;)

Did you get something good in your stocking this year?

I'm back...

Yes, this holiday was a whirlwind adventure for me, but it seemed to go by fast?!?

Anyway, today's manicure is actually last weeks manicure, yep, last week!

It lasted 7 days,, and these pics were taken on day 7, after I baked over 20 loaves of pumpkin bread and washed countless dishes, ready?....

OPI "Visions Of Sugarplum"
 2 coats

Yep, this is them after 7 days..not bad! This is what I used:
1 coat OPI Nail Envy Matte
1 coat Orly Bonder
2 coats of color
1 coat OPI Top Coat
1 coat Seche Vite (applied while the top coat is wet)

That's it!!!

V.O.S. was an ULTA exclusive from 2009. It is a great deep purple shimmer, that delivers high sparkle even after 7 days!

The shimmer in V.O.S. is goldish-green and really sparkles thru the purple base nicely! No application issues, 2 coats and it was perfect!

I did have one chip on my thumb, but overall NOT BAD AT ALL for 7 days!

It's kinda funny, my nails look great for 7 days, but my cuticles show all the destruction baking and dish-washing has done to them. No worries I treated them to a nice "warm olive oil treatment" after the baking ended! :)

I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Beyond The Misteletoe Holiday Collection 2011: Swatches and Review

Hello my sugar babies! Today I have the Holiday Collection for Color Club, "Beyond The Mistletoe".

This collection was and still is, very sought after, and for GOOD reason :)

"Holiday Splendor"
2 coats

Hands down the favorite from the collection :) Holographic glitter suspended in a green jelly base...LOVE!!!! In real life, it sparkles far more than my pictures depict...come on ya'll it's hard to capture MAGIC like this..LOL :)

"Sugarplum Fairy"
2 coats

Wow! Look at this bad boy shine! Gorgeous light lilac holographic glitter, it's stunning! :)

"Candy Cane"
2 coats

Love the name, because I love candy canes!!!  This is a soft pink holographic glitter, which actually has bits of purple and blue glitter in it. Even though it is a pink, it's very pretty!

"Beyond The Mistletoe"
2 coats

Teal based holographic glitter, and it is very nice. This one is more sheer than the others, so 3 coats may be needed, or you can layer your favorite aqua shade under it, to give it added depth :)

"Gingerbread"
2 coats

Gold holographic glitter...it doesn't get much blingier than that! I like this one because the gold is NOT brassy, it's softer and prettier on my hands, in my opinion.

"Jingle Jangle"
 2 coats

Blue based holographic glitter, that shines with a little silver glitter as well. This was thin and a bit "patchy" as well, and I would probably wear this with 3 coats, or 2 coat over my favorite crisp light blue. So soft and pretty! :)

This collection reminds me of fairies, and little iridescent tinted wings. Like most glitters, these dry gritty, so 2 coats of top coat are needed, at a minimum. None the less, I love this collection, it is the lighter, prettier side of the holidays! My favorites are "Holiday Splendor", "Beyond The Mistletoe", and "Sugarplum Fairy", but seriously if you spot this collection, they ALL are WINNERS!!!!

Keep It Sweet!

China Glaze: Eye Candy 3D Glitters Collection, Swatches and Review

Today I have the China Glaze's Eye Candy 3D Glitters Collection released for this holiday season.  Once the bottles were released, I noticed that some had silver caps and some had black caps.

I spoke to the China Glaze PR and they said that they did not know why there were 2 different cap colors, but they assured me that the polish colors were all consistently the same.  Let the mystery begin :)

"Love Marilyn"
3 coats, no top coat

Small pieces of red glitter with larger hexagon glitter. I wanted to love this because it had more silver glitter than OPI ""Gettin Miss Piggy With It", but both fall a bit short in my opinion. Then add the fact that I could not get full coverage in 3 coats, and I have to say, this did not work for me. Although topped over a more opaque color, it would be kinda awesome! :)

"Blonde Bombshell"
 3 coats, no top coat

Very pretty gold glitter. Multi-sized golden glitter, gorgeous! Gold is not my color, but it delivers the bling factor and any color that does that is all ACES in my book. This would be great topped over your favorite golden foil or black creme. :)

"Material Girl"
2 coats, no top coat

Very pretty! Pink glitter with holographic larger hexagon glitter...fabulous! I'm not a "pink girl", but this color is very pretty without being "annoying"..at least for me :)

"Marry A Millionaire"
3 coats, no top coat

Love the name! This is my favorite from the collection and I believe the most original. This is a great mix of regular glitter and bar glitter in purple, green gold, and blue. Although I do wish it was more opaque, it still would seriously ROCK over a black or a darker purple cream, to give it more depth. I love this one!!!

"Some Like It Haute"
2 coats, no top coat

Yes we do!!! LOL!  AWESOME! I know this color has several "kissin cousins" out in the polish world, but this one is sooooo pretty in person. Dark grey glitter with larger holographic glitter. love this!!!!

"Lorelei's Tiara"
2 coats, no top coat

Very nice! Silver glitter with larger blue glitter piece. Very simple yet, still very nice!. I could have done 1 more layer, and it would be perfectly opaque, but I like how it looks with 2 coats. I'm definitely wearing this again layered over my favorite silver foil.

Overall I like this collection, but wish the colors were more opaque for me. I know there are other swatches that show them to be more opaque, but that just wasn't the case with the batch I got. :)

Never the less, these beauties would be stunning layered over a black creme, and sure to bring a little bring to your festive finger tips :) Grab them if you see them!
