The zoya that started it all...

Back in October 2009, I was searching for a cute Halloween manicure idea, when I stumbled on my first Nail Polish Blog, that was what started it all.  The first nail polish I saw that caught my eye was Zoya "Yummy" from their Candy Summer 2007 collection.

I never heard of Zoya before that time,  and I was so curious and so in love with this color. After that I was so overwhelmed with all the blogs and colors I had discovered that poor "Yummy" kept creeping lower, and lower on my list of lemmings...until recently.

I did a huge haul from Zoya and I HAD to add this :) Here it is after almost 2 years..

Zoya "Yummy"
2 coats

It's a gorgeous robyn's egg blue creme, that has a milky dusty quality, so creamy and gorgeous!

I don't know what it is, but I LOVE Zoya cremes!!!! They are always so bright and rich and fun! I love them! Usually when I think of cremes, I think old and boring, but when they are in bright, young, candy colors, I go gaga...LOL :)

So of course after 2 days I did not have the heart to remove this beauty so I added some design to the accent finger.

Cute...isn't it?  I added big dots, with my dotting tool using Dr. Remedy's "Vigor", and then the smaller dots using a smaller dotting tool using China Glaze "For Audrey" :), and topped them off using Poshe.

Pretty blue sparkles...has a price!

I recently placed my first Nubar order (haul pics coming later) and I added this beauty to the list...

Nubar
"Night Sparkle"
2 coats

It's a great blue sparkle nail color, what could be wrong?  I'll tell you...it stained my nails blue after less than 24 hours wear...smurf nails..AHHHHHHH! and it took 3..yes I said 3, coats of Nubar Diamont to get a smooth finish....oye vay!!! :)

First off, I applied 2 coats of base coat, because I had a sneaking suspicion that the great blue color would be left on my nails.  Then I did my usual 2 coats of color and it dried very, very matte, then I applied the first coat of Diamont and this color turned into a "nail polish sponge"..LOL!! My top coat was sucked dry by the color...LOL :( Oh boy!!!!!

Then I applied the 2nd coat of Diamont and it was shiny, but I still had serious bumps, so I waited an hour and finally applied the 3rd coat of top coat  and it was FINALLY smooth!

But after all this, my nails felt like they were covered with cement so I had to take it off...so I'm telling you that you can have this great looking manicure too, if you don't mind 7 coats of STUFF...LOL!

Next time I'll try a Diamont /Seche Vite combo..maybe Seche Vite will work better on the bumps.

Anybody have the same issues??

OPI "I Juggle...Men" on top of...

Yeah, I realize that title sounds dirty, but it's not, I promise..LOL *crosses fingers and toes*

Here is the new color from OPI's Soft Shades Collection, Femme De Cirque Collection, "I Juggle...Men",, on top of some familiar OPI colors.

When I first saw this color, I imagined it on top of a black creme and then I started to think a little outside the box and started to think of some other OPI colors where the sparkle would really come out.

So here ya go...

Thumb to Pinkie: (2 coats each) Yoga-ta Get This Blue, Suzi Skies The Pyrenees, Here today...Aragon Tomorrow, You Don't Know Jacques, Russian Navy.

Then here they are with "I Juggle...Men" 1 coat over...

OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue

OPI "Suzi Skies The Pyrenees, "Here today...Aragon Tomorrow"

OPI "You don't know Jacques"

OPI "Russian Navy"

Then I decided 2 coats of "I Juggle...Men" was very necessary ;)

2 coats of OPI "Yoga-ta Get This Blue", and 2 coats of "I Juggle...Men", so pretty, I love this combo!!

2 coats of OPI "Suzi Skies The Pyrenees, and "Here today...Aragon Tomorrow", both topped with 2 coats of "I Juggle...Men". I love the combo using "Suzi Skies The Pyrenees", really pops! and check out the duo-chrome flecks, so pretty!

2 coats of OPI "You Don't Know Jacques", and 2 coats of "I Juggle... Men". I don't like this one so much, it's okay.

China Glaze Island Escape Summer 2011 Swatches

Here are my swatches for China Glaze's new summer collection "Island Escape". I love the polishes in this  collection, they are bright, and full of summery goodness, all the colors are perfect for summer! :)

108  Degrees
2 coats
Flirtatious berry pink with specks of micro glitter.Great hot pink, with specks of micro-glitter that flash blue..loves it! this is my new favorite pink this summer!

Papaya Punch
2 coats
Crème based vivid orange.  I love this color, because it is so much more than just "an orange", its a papaya orange, bright yellow based orange creme, original and perfect poolside. I can soooo see this on my hands catching some sun this summer..woo hoo!!

Electric Pineapple
 2 coats
High intensity crème based lime green.  Like any light yellow-based  color, the first coat was a bit sheer. You definitely have to let the coats dry a little between to prevent drag, but it's worth it, This is an awesome, "bright not quite neon" color!

Cha Cha Cha
2 coats
Vivacious shimmer green. Applied nicely, and there were streaks on the first coat, but they disappeared with the second coat. :)  This is a great summer green, reminds me of Margaritas!!!

Blue Iguana
3 coats
Bold and daring sparkly blue. This one has a great purple flash that is gorgeous, but of course my camera was NOT trying to show it....LOL.  Even though it was the most sheer color of the group, it's still gorgeous at 3 coats! :)

Senorita Bonita
2 coats
Passionate purple shimmer with pink micro glitter. The pink glitter is there, but it's hard to see on camera, this is a great color, and it will be the next color on my toes, so pretty!

These colors are meant to be poolside or beachside this year. The standouts to me are Electric Pineapple, Papaya Punch and Senorita Bonita.  Even though the cremes gave me so "drag issues", on the second coat, they are still really nice, and in my opinion, perfect for toes this summer :):)

It's a wet n wild day in So Cal today.....

Wet weather always brings strange accidents and driving habits out in Californians, they all of sudden discover they can NOT go the same speed when the ground is wet...NO...You don't say! SLOW DOWN People!

Anyway here is a great color from wet n wild, dare I say a classic?! :)

Wet n Wild
"Night Prowl"
3 coats

Its great red based purple glitter housed in a black base. 1st coat is thin, but the 2nd coat layers nicely.  I did 3 coats so that this would last a bit longer since the formula is a tad thin.

It cost 99 cents....you can't beat that!  It's vampy goodness on a budget, SCORE! You can pick this beauty up at your local drugstore, I've seen it at my local Walgreen's. :)

Even if you have nice weather, drive safely people, and keep it sweet! :)

OPI Fall 2011: Coast to Coast Classics

Coast to Coast Classics

OPI Launches Touring America
Collection for Fall/Winter 2011

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.

“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”

The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space Needle, Get in the Expresso Lane, French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel. Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely Lobster, Are We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.

“This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson,” explains Suzi. “Together, the locales that inspired Touring America make up a rich palette of color complementing trends from the runway, where we saw a mix of feminine details and dramatic menswear touches.”

Touring America includes the following shades:

Are We There Yet?
Don’t make me reach back there and take that perfect melon shade!

I Eat Mainely Lobster
We “clawed” through crowds to catch this coral for you.

My Address is "Hollywood"
We put this pretty rose-pink on the map.

Color to Diner For
I’ll take the rosy-red with a side of “awesome.”

Honk if You Love OPI
Don’t let this gorgeous dark grape pass you by.

Road House Blues
In this case…R&B stands for “Really Blue.”

Suzi Takes the Wheel
Buckle up—she’s not stopping until she gets to gray!

French Quarter for Your Thoughts
Want beads? Then show us your sexy gray nails!

Uh-oh Roll Down the Window
You’re gonna wanna pull over for this “unexpected” olive green.

A-taupe the Space Needle
You’ll climb to new heights with this creamy-rich taupe.

Get in the Expresso Lane
An amped-up dark brown that’ll never letcha down!

I Brake for Manicures
This gorgeous eggplant-plum has our full attention.

Blue Metal...

Here's the story... I've been swapping a lot lately, and I suggest you do the same.  It's great to get rid of a polish your were "eh-eh" about for one you've been drooling over.

Anyway, I swapped for a color I wanted, and the swapper included this beauty as an extra...I LOVED IT!!!

Fashion Bug "Blue Bird"
2 coats

I LOVE this color, blue metal..awesome! It's bright and shiny and easy to apply. 2 coats no issues, no streaking, love it!

Apparently after a little digging, "Fashion Bug" is a store that not only sells clothes, but awesome colors like this one for cheap.  I don't know if there are other colors in this line, but this one is a "fashion gold mine" :)

I don't have any "Fashion Bug" stores near me, but if you do..go, go, go and find this color!

I really do love swapping, and I love even more when I get a surprise gem like this one :)

Do you have any "Fashion Bug" colors?
