Nicole by OPI Target Exclusives: Swatches and Review

"Nicole by OPI announces four new nail lacquers to be exclusively retailed at Target. From candy apple red and iridescent lilac to shimmering pink and a silvery sparkle, these four hues are designed to bring color to winter’s darker palette, transitioning nails into spring."

"Great Minds Pink Alike"
And your nails and this pink are a match made in heaven.
3 coats, no top coat

This polish is bright bubblegum creme with  pink shimmer. This is photographing like it's fuchsia, but in real life it is bubblegum, trust me. Also, this polish was thin, wit 3 coats, i still has visible nail lines, even though you can not see them here. My camera did not like this color, and neither did I. :(

"Look at Me Look at Me!"
This silvery-rainbow sparkle has something to say!
2 coats, top coat on the index and ring finger only.

This is a gorgeous grey/silver glitter small pieces of fuchsia glitter. Dries matte but still very smooth I applied top coat to the index and ring finger to see if it makes a difference, and I think it does. Top coat gives the glitter the "bump" it needs in order to shine, and not just look like pretty gravel..

"That's Totally Red-ical!"
Like, how amazing is this awesome apple-red?
2 coats, no top coat

This pink toned red creme is going to be great on my toes! So pretty! There is  a very fine shimmer to this polish, but it's too fine to pick up with my camera. Just trust me, it's very pretty!

"Purple Yourself Together"
Snap out of it! It’s time to polish on this purple!
2 coats, no top coat

Awesome, this polish is the best in the bunch. Warm purple creme with fine golden shimmer. Reminds me a lot of "OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI?" and Zoya "Tru", all of them war purples with shimmer. All different, all unique, all very necessary!!!

My favorites are "Purple Yourself Together" and "That's Totally Red-ical".  I'm sure all 4 will make great additions to the Target line-up

Essie "Mink Muffs" and Color Club "Magic Attraction"

Today I have a quick manicure I did  not too long ago.  I've been wanting Essie "Mink Muffs" for some time. Just looking at the color reminded me of warm chocolate milk. I'm not a fan of chocolate milk, but hot cocoa is a whole other story, YUM  YUM!!!! :)

2 coats of Essie "Mink Muffs" with 2 coats of Color Club "Magic Attraction" on the thumb.

This manicure remind me of a cup of hot cocoa with whipped cream on top sprinkled with sugar! :)

"Mink Muffs" was super easy to apply, and was opaque in 2 coats. usually Essie polishes can be streaky and thin, but this was a welcome exception.

"Magic Attraction" is a taupe/lilac tinted holographic released in the Glitter Vixen Collection in 2008.  In order to cover all the "nooks and cranny's" I had to apply 3 coats to my thumb, and it was well worth it! So pretty!

I topped the entire manicure in 1 coat of Seche Vite, and I was out the door, with my hot cocoa manicure! :)

OPI NYC Ballet Soft Shades Collection: Swatches and Review

"OPI announces the launch of six new additions to the SoftShadescollection, inspired by the New York City Ballet (NYCB), one of the world’s premiere dance companies.  New York City Ballet by OPI features five sheer shades lightly tinged in hues of beige, pink, white, lilac and gray, as well as a silver sparkly lacquer. With various sized glitter particles, this hue can be worn alone or layered over any of the other colors for added shine and dimension."

To my surprise, these were not sheer polishes, but pastel jellies. Wow OPI, way to raise the barre! LOL!

"Barre My Soul"
This sheer beige is gorgeous, and that’s the “naked” truth.
 2 coats, no top coat

"You Callin' Me A Lyre?"
This ascending pink hits all the right notes.
2 coats, no top coat

"Don't Touch My Tutu!"
Hands off this wispy white -- it's all mine!
2 coats, no top coat

"Care To Danse?"
This lilac is up-to-the-minuet in fashion.
2 coats, no top coat

"My Pointe Exactly"
See? This gorgeous sheer gray has been right all along!
2 coats, no top coat

All 5 colors were super easy to apply, and because they are jellies and not just "sheer", In had no issues with bald spots. The most opaque of the 5 colors is definitely "My Pointe Exactly", but only by a little, otherwise they are all jelly and all unique.

Even though I do not like polishes that show the visible nail line, VNL, my favorites are "Care to Danse",  "My Pointe Exactly".

And here is each color (2 coats each) with 1 coat of the glitter "Pirouette My Whistle".

"Barre My Soul" with PmW

"You Callin' Me A Lyre?" with PmW

As you can see here, "Pirouette My Whistle" is small silver glitter in a clear base with white frost hexagon glitter. Very light and pretty!

"Don't Touch My Tutu!" with PmW

You can see here how the silver glitter in PmW really sparkles when the light catches it :)

"Care To Danse?" with PmW

"My Pointe Exactly" with PmW

"Pirouette My Whistle" is a very easy glitter to apply, and would look great over any color, not just sheers and jellies.

My next manicure, I'm going to try a "jelly sandwich" using "My Pointe Exactly" and "Pirouette My Whistle", in this order, MPE, PmW, MPE.  :)

New York City Ballet by OPI will be available April 2012, atProfessional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Finger Paints "Grape Gumball" and "Pop Rock Pink"

Today is a bit gloomy, here in Los Angeles, so I thought I'd bring you something to cheer you up, or me up since I'm the one surrounding by clouds!

Today I have "Grape Gumball" and "Pop Rock Pink"!!!  These 2 colors are from Finger Paints "Gumdrops and Lollipops" Collection released this Spring at Sally's Beauty Supply. I choose these 2 out of the others, because they are the only ones in the collection that have shimmer in them, and I love shimmer!

Finger Paints
"Grape Gumball"
2 coats, no top coat

This color may be named Grape, but it has great sparkling blue  and silver flecks and with blue undertones as it's base, it sets it apart from the rest. This applied nicely, and smoothed out well in 2 coats, no issues.

Usually Finger Paint colors are clumpy and apply unevenly, but this one was not a problem for me. :)

Finger Paints
"Pop Rock Pink"
2 coats, no top coat

I usually do not go for pinks, but this is very pretty! This is a perfect pink for spring with a hint of coral in it's base. The shimmer is amazing as well, there are tiny flecks of pink that flash peach and sometimes blue too...oh yeah!

This a bit more uneven in it's application, but I was still able to get the job done in 2 coats.

Yep, these two stood out to me in the collection, but other colors people have been going nuts for are "Circus Peanuts" and "Choco Mint". Check them out at your local Sally's...if others have not already gobbled them up, LOL :)

Keep It Sweet!
