Pure Ice: Vinyl Remix Review

Pure Ice has released a line of crackles, yeah, I know, you think they are the usual crackle top coats, but these are different, they are "tinted" crackles that change the color of the base nail color.

This is how it works! First apply the base coat...

I applied 2 coats of "Platinum Magic" base coat, so I had no bald spots.  Then I swiped on, in an "x" pattern, the crackle top coat, just to see what the big deal was about...

Wow! This is cool! Oh yeah, I can get behind this. The crackle itself is black, but it tinted the base color pink...sweet! I decided for the other fingers I was going to play around with my "brush stroke" work.

It dries matte like most crackles, so I had to add some clear top coat to add some shine.  :)  There are some great posts about this same collection, where bloggers have combined colors or used different patterns, Frazzle and Anipolish, Liquid Jelly and Colores de Carol are just a  few. :)

I've heard these have been spotted at Walmart. I honestly hate buying polish from Walmart, half the time the polishes have all be opened and "swatched" on" god knows" whose fingers (I hoped they used their fingers) etc.

But hopefully theses are wrapped up in cute little pairs, like they were when they were sent to me. So you know they are perfect and ready for purchase!

Overall , these crackles bring something new to the "crackle table", I think you shouldn't pass them up!

China Glaze "Don't Be A Square"

Hello there! I had a super busy weekend, but of course I found time to keep up with the sun, and sport some of my favorite holographic colors from the China Glaze Kaleidoscope Collection 2009.

Today I have "Don't Be A Square" from China Glaze's best Collection, Kaleidoscope Collection, well at least it's the best in my opinion.

China Glaze
"Don't Be A Square"
 3 coats, with top coat.

"Don't Be A Square" is a beautiful soft rose pink holographic polish with just a hint of peachy undertones.

Because these older colors are thinner, they need 3 coats, unless you use another color as a base, but trust me...3 coats and it is well worth it!!!!!

This polish applies super easy and once I topped it with Nubar "Diamont" top coat and Seche Vite, I was good for 3 or 4 days :)

Oh yeah, I love summer time.... and I love holographic polishes in the summer sun even more...woo hoo!!!!

Zoya "Jo"

Today I have a quick manicure for ya. I wore this over the weekend while attending my niece's softball tournament, it was not her team colors, but it was still pretty! LOL!  :)

Zoya "Jo"
2 coats, with Zoya Armor top coat, and then a final coat with Seche Vite.

Zoya "Jo" is described as a delicate and serene looking medium periwinkle blue with subtle silver and blue toned shimmer. This calming , flattering blue is like stress relief therapy on your nails!".

I couldn't have said it better my self! LOL! I tried to take pics with me holding a softball, but they are way too big and my fingers were totally lost in the pic, so I decide to grab a tennis ball from a cute little pooch that was nearby...don't worry I gave it back! LOL!

Short and sweet! This color is from Zoya's Twist Collection in 2009 and  applied perfectly in 2 coats, no issues. :) I rarely have any application issues with Zoya colors as their formula is really, really good and easy to work with.

Happy Friday and remember, Keep It Sweet!

Nubar "Jeans Collection"

Hello, today I have one of my favorite little collections. It is not my favorite because it is all holographic colors, nor because it is named after me (yeah, right), it is my favorite because it is BLUE!!!!

This collection was released by Nubar in the Fall of 2011, right after Chanel released their 3 colors in their own Jeans Collection. Well ,since there is a big $$ difference between Chanel ($24 per bottle) and Nubar ($20 for the entire collection), it should come as no surprise why I snagged this set IMMEDIATELY!!!

Left to Right, 2 coats each: "Boyfriend Jeans", "Faded Jeans", and "Dark Wash Jeans", all with top coat. All except 1 applied very well, and had a very gel like consistency. The lighter blue "Faded Jeans" I had to apply thicker than the other too, because as with most light blues, you can get some bald spots. But, the thicker coats worked out well :)

So... I'm sure you are wondering how these compare to the Chanel colors, check out this comparison on Cafe Makeup.  Looking at her swatches, I think they are definitely close enough to justify picking up the Nubar's and leaving the Chanel's behind :) Don't get me wrong I love Chanel, but my love for blues, does not "out trump" my wallet...know what I'm sayin!

You can still grab these beauty's, all 3 for $20, at NUBAR online....winner, winner chicken dinner!

China Glaze "Sneaker Head" and OPI "Servin' Up Sparkle"

Hello there, today I have a cute little diddy featuring China Glaze "Sneaker Head".  I recently acquired Sneaker Head in a swap, it is a bright fun strawberry red creme that came from the China Glaze Kicks Collection, Summer 2009.

Perfect for summer, but was a bit thin after 2 coats :( (I still had VNL), so I topped it with a glitter, and that made me feel happy again.:)

2 coats of China Glaze "Sneaker Head" topped with 1 coat of OPI "Servin' Up Sparkle".

This color is nothing unique, but topped with the OPI, it definitely stand out in a crowd! The OPI is from the OPI Serena Williams Grand Slam England Set released last Summer in 2011.

Still... since I know I have some other colors that are similar, I'll ditch the China Glaze...but the name is so darn cute!

Since it is now Spring and Summer is around the corner, it's time to break out your brights, glitters and holographic polish!!! Woo Hoo for warm and sunny weather!
